Wet Bar Turned Accessory Dwelling Unit (Peek our ADU blueprint!)

When designing a wet bar, you want a simple and classy design. Many opt for bold tile patterns. Unique and thoughtful fridge, sink, flooring, countertop choices are essential. Gold Coast Construction walks homeowners through the design process.

Wet bars are nice because you have extra seating and storage. Our homeowner wanted the extra sink, cold drinks, and the additional kitchen work area.

This wet bar is just the beginning for this customer and his family. We are currently submitting plans to potentially build an ADU on their lot. Accessory Dwelling Units are an easy, and affordable way to increase the value of the home, resolve California’s housing crisis, supplement high costs of living, be able to continue to live in California, allow families to age in place, with graceenable families of diverse backgrounds to live in cities that typically require high socioeconomic status, and keep families together.

My wife and I want to move up out of Newport beach

And we were going to take the back part den and needed to convert it into a living area.

And a wet bar slash kitchenette area.

And then we’re going to do an add on to that.

So we’re kinda doing a European model of putting two families underneath one roof.

And it’s a creative way to do that.

Well, it was either that or we were going to need to move to Idaho or Texas or Colorado

And we wouldn’t be near family.

So this was a creative thought process of how to merge two into one.

The goal was to have the whole kitchenette built out, by the time we moved in.

So it was a very tight process.

It was almost like, you couldn’t waste a day.

Because of what needed to happen from beginning to end.

I feel like Gold Coast, laid a map out

And there was really good communication

In the contract

About what was Gold Coast’s responsibility and what was our responsibility

With some deadline dates when we needed to have our part done

So they could get their part in terms of sinks and faucets and backsplash and all of that

That was pretty smooth

The truth is we got it done on time we finished up the last minor adjustment on a Wednesday and we moved in on Sunday.

It’s been great

We enjoyed every bit of it

If I could blow gold coast’s horn a little bit,

I feel like Joey, the main contractor,

One of the shining points he brings to the table is his accessibility

I think he probably works 24/7

But when you shoot him a text

Or you make a phone call

Even if it’s after hours

He’s always picking up

Or he gets right back to you

He knew he was on a tight frame

But he would probably treat any customer that way
