Building an ADU in Rancho Cucamonga

Joey did a good job of understanding what we were trying to get, the design we wanted, and getting everything going in progress. Joey did a great job on that. He had to hook up to the sewer lines because the city would not allow the city’s code. If there is a sewer available, you must connect to it. And because the houses behind us had put sewers and we were required to connect to those sewer lines. These were all good. I the guys, everybody that was there was good. They communicated with us and were extremely happy with it. It’s exactly what we wanted.

OK. Well, we bought the property for the sole purpose of being able to build an ADU next door to it, and we made sure that the city would allow us to do it. We checked everything out before we bought the property, and we got permission, so. So that was it. The whole purpose was so that we would have a place to live that was separate from our kids. We did not want to share a house with our children when we were in California. Well, of course, we’ve known Joey since he was a kid. So Colin is close friends with Joey and kept in contact with them. And so that’s when we brought Joey in. Everything was good in the beginning stages. They communicated with us and were extremely happy with it. It’s exactly what we wanted. Well, almost exactly. But it is exactly only because the city wouldn’t allow us to do the one thing we wanted to do. But otherwise, yes, it’s absolutely fantastic. We’re happy to be in it. They need to prepare or expect expenditures that are not included. My three-year-old comes over every morning and knocks on the door, and I tell him we’re not home, and he doesn’t believe me, but oh, my God. It’s nice. It’s nice having. And it gives us separation. So, in other words, we spend time with our grandkids, but we don’t have to be sharing. We don’t have to worry about watching kids’ shows on TV if we don’t want to. We don’t have to worry about if we just want to sit and relax, we can go over to our house and relax. If we want to spend time with the grandkids, we can go outside and spend time with them, or we can go next door to spend time with them. We have dinner with them once a week, but the other days we tell them we want our separation and they want their separation, too. And that’s normal. Spend too much time together and you’ll go batty. We keep our separation, but at the same time, we have plenty of time together.
