He is really personable. He is knowledgeable and made everything seem like, when you hear about most contractors, that it’s a pain in the butt, and he’s not. He found an antique brass vent cover. He found an antique brass drain. He found an antique brass bathtub drain. We were looking for a fixture, and he called 14 or 15 different fixture places. Nobody had what we wanted in antique brass. Joey found a shop in LA that does plating. He sent all the hardware, like a nickel finish, to get plated in the antique brass. It came out really sharp. Joey was awesome.

Whenever we talked to him, and I had an idea, he had a vision of what that idea would look like in real life. Elias was the first person who came to the house to do the demo. He just made me at ease. If I wasn’t home, I felt comfortable letting him in to finish the job if I wasn’t around. Three days for those walls, two days for the floor. The floor was about 80 square feet. Just from the pan. All the walls. All the floors. It is all full of mud. It’s all floated. And mudded. Paper. Wire. Scratch coat. And a final brown coat.
